Eleven members of the Yosores and Betinol families who died in a flash flood in Barangay Bacayan, Cebu City were laid to rest on November 10, 2025, at Talamban Catholic Cemetery. The tragedy was linked to a flood control project that allegedly failed in its purpose. Survivors, including Antonio Betinol who lost his wife and child, expressed grief and called for justice, blaming the projectβs proponents. Several members of the Yosores family β including the matriarch, children, and grandchildren β perished, with only the father and one child surviving. Relatives like Janette Alilin mourned multiple losses, while search operations continued for two missing persons. Clearing efforts under a bridge in Bacayan also went on, though no additional bodies were found at the time of reporting.
